The pH of water may be described as acid, neutral or alkaline. pH is measured on a scale of 1 - 14, 1 - 7 is considered acid, 7 is neutral and 7 - 14 is considered alkaline.

Most species of commonly kept tropical and coldwater fish will thrive in an environment of between 6.5 and 8.5. A pH outside this range will cause the fish stress. Stress is the single most common cause of fish disease in home aquariums.

Designed for aquariums with a pH of below 6.5.

This product has been formulated to give the reassurance that even in the case of accidental overdose the pH will not rise above 8.5.
